Think about this for a second… Maybe take a minute… Possibly even more than that…

I have been pondering this all year.
Now, we know that “Faith is the evidence of things not yet seen, and the assurance of things hoped for” (Hebrews 11:1), but what does that even mean?

What does it mean to you?

So far, I have come to the conclusion that FAITH is making sure that I do not let my current situation determine my future expectations. FAITH is making sure that I move forward in life with my purpose and destination in mind at all times, not the opinions and pressures of those all around. FAITH is NOT allowing myself to become COMFORTABLE with my comforts, but instead pushing out of my comfort zones in order to grow.

FAITH IS AN ACTION WORD which builds momentum, sinks deeper roots, and accumulates mass with each step that is taken. This brings into perspective what James was saying (James 2:14-26), “Faith without works is dead”. You must work and walk IN FAITH, in order to truly grow and understand faith.

Faith is ever growing. It is like a muscle that needs nourishment and exercise in order to grow. Just like any muscle left in one state for too long, it could become lethargic, misaligned, or even unhealthy. We must exercise our faith through works daily as we walk with God in line with our purpose. We must challenge ourselves to grow spiritually, individually, communally, and learn to become uncomfortable with our comfort zones.

‘FAITH IS NOT COMFORTABLE’ It is uncomfortable with its present state and desires to grow all the more. As Jesus said, “if we have Faith as little as a mustard seed”(Matthew 17:20)… Why a mustard seed? “The Kingdom of Heaven is like a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and sowed in his field; which indeed is smaller than all seeds. But when it is grown, it is greater than the herbs, and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and lodge in its branches” (Matthew 13: 31-32).

The mustard seed is not limited by its size. A mustard seed does not remain The smallest of seeds once planted deep. It stretches, grows, and sinks down deep, spreading its roots, and multiplying in size for all to benefit from.

So back to you. Are you just comfortable with where you are now, or will you allow yourself and others to truly benefit from the growth available from within? Do you dare to be a mustard seed? Do you dare to get uncomfortable with your faith?
