Prompting: What could have been a short story.

The steering jerked to the right – towards the 18-wheeler. I watched in complete silence as the car spun towards the back end of the truck. I was so sure that we were going to smash into the back of the truck. It was a literal ‘Jesus take the wheel’ moment.

If Today Be My Last Day…

I would not think of the things that I own, nor of the things that I wished I could have. I would not think of the career I was able to attain, nor of the amount of money in my account. Instead, I would think of opportunities. Opportunities taken, opportunities missed. Opportunities to laugh, opportunities […]

  • I Would If I Could. I Will When I Can.

Dear Lord, I go back and forth in my mind about the many reasons why none of this makes sense. The truth is that I know that I may be holding on to the ideas of what was, but that does not seem to be enough to deter me. Why? I am definitely not like […]

    At The Very Center

So, how are you going to let yourself adapt? How will you allow yourself to see the good at the very center of your not so great situations? How are you going to allow yourself to heed the nudge that most often leads to inexplicable peace – though the path may be uncharted and rough?

    An Open Letter

Dear You, I have known you for as long as I can remember. I once heard a quote that says “There’s a friend who sticks closer than a brother”, and yes, that’s us; though I am starting to doubt if I ever understood that proverb at all. I’ve been close with a lot of people, […]

    Heart

I ask, ‘what is on Your heart’, You say, “you”. Me? “Do you trust Me”, You say. I am on Your heart, and You want to know if I trust You. Do I? Do I trust You? My default response to such a question wants to jump out of my mouth. My default response, like […]

    Falling in Love

I wake up thinking about Your love for me. I wake up trying to understand why You love me still. My mind often cannot comprehend, and words fail me when I try my hardest. At this crossroad of WHAT IS and HOW COULD THIS BE, I turn to song. With each chord strummed, I fall […]

  • When it clicks…

    When it clicks…

As I went about my day and was winding down at work, I got restless with the noise of the world around me (this happens often – the world is a noisy place), and just wanted to retreat into a place where my soul could be edified with the words of Truth, with a focus […]

    Rejection

Written by: Amarachi Silverline Offor & Iyanuoluwa Akinrinola   Let me ask you a few questions to start. Have you ever heard the word “No”? Have you ever felt worthless? Have you ever put so much effort into a thing Only to watch it blow-up in your face? Have you ever written or answered […]

  • Not Comfortable

Think about this for a second… Maybe take a minute… Possibly even more than that… I have been pondering this all year. Now, we know that “Faith is the evidence of things not yet seen, and the assurance of things hoped for” (Hebrews 11:1), but what does that even mean? What does it mean to […]

  • Trusting The Process

“Be still and know that I am God” (Psalm 46:10, KJV) She saw it boldly written. The other words seemed faint as she glanced through her bible. She had flipped through the pages continuously and that was the only verse that she caught sight of. She threw her bible to the floor and went down […]
